DEATH ROAD is an anti-smoking short film released on YouTube on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day.
The entire film of 5-minute duration is shot using a single continuous tracking shot captured through a handheld camera at a live location around Delhi University North Campus while battling with rain, crowd and monkeys in keeping up with the spirit of cinematic realism.
The short film is a tribute to Charles Chaplin, Orson Welles, Akira Kurosawa, Dev Anand, Guru Dutt, Kishore Kumar, Max Ophüls, Stanley Kubrick, among other luminaries of cinema.
DEATH ROAD is a serious attempt to highlight the ill-effects of smoking in a rather non-serious manner.
