The Cupboard (2015) – Review

This short film has vintage RGV touch

An author experiencing some kinda “writer’s block” is frustratingly trying to put his thoughts to keyboard inside a dimly lit flat when he suddenly feels he may not be alone there…someone’s lurking around to get him.

The plot may sound clichéd horror to you but director Ravié Solanky’s latest short titled ‘The Cupboard’ gets the eerie ambience and build up spot on. The lighting, camera angles and sound effects elevate the film substantially, that too without dialogues or an expensive budget.

Indeed, the treatment reminds us of Ram Gopal Varma from his good ole days. At just 10 minutes of run time, this cupboard is worth opening….
